Furniture as an Innovation of Multimedia and Technology

           

Nowadays, people are facing a modern era, a condition where everything has been conducted by technology. In this modern age, I believe that everyone of you has got to know about technology. In this essay, I will be talking about furniture as an innovation of multimedia and technology. Before that, what is multimedia? What is innovation? Based on Wikipedia, multimedia is media and content that uses a combination of different content form, while innovation is the development of new customers value through solutions that meet new needs, inarticulate needs, or old customer and market needs in value adding new ways. Now, you can understand what innovation is and what is multimedia. So, how furniture can be one of the innovations of multimedia and technology?

The idea to apply multimedia and technology on things is actually has been invented a long time ago. The challenge now is how creative people bring innovation to the idea that already exist, and create something different and new. In this modern age, we can find a lot of things that has been touched by multimedia and technology, included furniture. Multimedia and technology have been applied to some furniture because people want to feel something different, new, modern, comfortable and useful. In this case, I chose multimedia bed as an example of my studies.

I believe that multimedia bed already exists from a few years ago. But in my studies, I want to create my dream bed. I hope it will appear in the future. The reason why I chose bed is because I like to sleep. Some people say that bed is the biggest magnet in the world. To me, yes indeed. I feel that bed is my second girlfriend. I really like to spend my time on my bed. That is why I try to create my own dream bed. It is called multimedia bed, and the slogan is ‘simply addicted when it is on’. Yeah that is my bed. I imagine the bed with smart TV inside, bed that provides music and speaker, body massage on the mattress, storage and fridge at the bottom. It will be nice. After imagine about that, I try to create my own multimedia bed and it is just like that. I hope you can see it on my studies.

Advertising

This is week 10 and we learnt about advertising. Advertisement is a media to introduce something such as product to the public, in order to get profit for the company itself. Nowadays people have a lot of ideas on how to create creative advertisement. We can find a lot of unique advertisement around us. Example in the street we can see billboard. So what is the purpose of advertisement? Actually the main purpose of advertisement is to rise up their brand. Companies are using advertisement in television, newspaper, radio, internet, and it is only for one purpose, which is brand. The idea is just simple. Make an advertisement that attractive enough to get attention from other people, then when people see it, people like it, people buy it, people use it, then they are succeed to rise up their brand.

Random Word

Random Word technique is the simplest technique where a randomly picked word is used to generate new associations. By getting a random word and thinking how you can use is to solve your problem you are practically guaranteed to attack the problem from a different direction from that you would normally.
Another meaning, this technique provides a means of producing blind variation of ideas through the use of random word to produce a rich variety of unpredictable ideas.

How to make someone stop smoking in 6 months with random word; Traffic Light.

Green color indicates addicted. The first time you smoke, you will think that it is fine and you will get addicted to consume more cigarette.
Yellow color indicates disease. The more you consume cigarette, the more disease you will get.
Red color indicates death. The final disadvantage of smoking is death. A lot of people die faster because of smoking.
So if you see traffic light, think about it and you will remember that to stop smoking.

There are 7 rules to mindmapping so that the whole map will be more user friendly and more powerful, which are :

This is week 6 and we talked about mind map. I have known mind map since I was a kid. Mind map has become one of the good methods on how to explain something in order for someone to understand better. Since I was in school until now, mind map is very familiar in my lessons. We need mind map to explain ideas, and I think mind map is the best way to explain something because it is easier to understand compared to other format. Since I'm in Creative Multimedia, I have been taught how to create a creative mind map. Generally, it is the same with other mind map, the difference is just creative mind map is more free, it is not out of the rules, but it is easier to do because creative mind map will depend on how creative it will be.
